BitRing Rules

This page contains rules that BitRing members will be expected to uphold. Please note that in the unlikely event of additional rules being added in the future, members will not be notified. Please check back occasionally in case the rules change.

The main rule all members should follow is to not create any content on their sites which infringes on the rights of others. You should also try your best to be kind to everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, transgender status, or any other characteristic. This ring exists so everyone can have fun, so let's not disclude people based on things they cannot control.

If your website hosts illegal content such as illegal pornography, confidential information, NSFL, etc, you are not allowed to join BitRing. If a member is found to have added any illegal content to their site, they will be removed from the ring.

If your website contains any legal 18+ content, it should be clearly marked with a warning to underage people and not located on the main page.

When requesting to be added to the BitRing webring, you must add the navigation widget to your website, either on the main page or on another easily accessible webpage. You may also create your own navigation widget if it contains links to the "prev", "next", and main BitRing pages. You may also optionally add a link to the "random" page if you wish. Please check the join instructions to learn how to add the navigation widget to your website.

When emailing the signup email address or messaging me on Fediverse, please make sure to include your website URL, the page you have placed the navigation widget, your favorite retro computer model and/or game console, and an optional introduction in your message. Note that the optional computer/game console is mainly to help limit spam. If your message does not contain these items, you may be denied membership.

If you would like to leave the BitRing, please send an email to bitring-signup@proton.me. Please indicate in your subject line that you would like to leave the BitRing and include your website's URL in the email body. You will be removed as soon as possible.

By requesting BitRing membership, you confirm that you have read the rules and agree to follow them to the best of your ability. If you fail to follow the rules, you may have your website removed from BitRing. Thank you for reading the rules of BitRing!
